Workshops and Training

I offer workshops and training programmes designed to equip individuals and communities with the skills, confidence, and tools to tell their own stories and create meaningful change. My approach brings together visual storytelling and reflective, therapeutic practice, creating learning spaces that are practical, inclusive, and deeply human.

Through photography, filmmaking, and participatory methods, the workshops support both creative development and personal growth. Sessions are hands-on and dynamic, encouraging participants to explore their own voice, reflect on lived experience, and build connection through storytelling rather than focusing solely on technical skills.

Photography workshops focus on using the camera as a tool for observation and communication. Participants learn how to frame, interpret, and create images that carry meaning, whether they are completely new to photography or developing existing experience. The emphasis is on storytelling, intention, and confidence rather than equipment or perfection.

Filmmaking and editing training guides participants through the process of shaping ideas into clear and engaging visual narratives. From concept development to filming and editing, the focus remains on communicating stories with impact, helping participants understand how moving image can be used for advocacy, education, and expression.

I also provide training in participatory photography methods for those working with communities. This includes guidance on facilitating ethical and empowering storytelling processes, creating safe and respectful spaces, leading group reflection, and supporting people to represent themselves through images rather than being spoken for.

These workshops are suitable for NGOs and non-profit organisations seeking to strengthen documentation and communication, educators and trainers looking for creative learning tools, community leaders aiming to engage and advocate more effectively, and individuals interested in personal or creative development. Each programme is shaped through conversation and shared objectives, ensuring it responds directly to the needs of the group or organisation.

My way of working is collaborative and practice-led, encouraging learning through doing rather than instruction alone. The aim is always to create work that is meaningful, respectful, and grounded in real experience, while leaving participants with skills and confidence they can continue to use long after the workshop ends.

If you are interested in workshops or training for your organisation, community, or team, I would be glad to discuss your needs and explore how we can work together to build skills, confidence, and stories that matter.
