This gallery presents images created by participants of Welcome to Our Jungle, a participatory photography project developed in the Calais refugee camp between 2015 and 2016. The project supported men, women, and children living in the camp to share their own perspectives through photography, offering a human and balanced view of life inside the “Jungle.”

Participatory photography places voice, empowerment, and self-representation at the centre of the process. The images reflect the creativity and resilience of the participants, who reclaim authorship of their stories and share them on their own terms.
